1. What should be the Frequency of visits to a dentist?
It’s universally recommended that you visit the dentist once or twice a year (once in Six Months), although the frequency of routine dental visits should be based on individual need, some people will need to see the dentist more frequent than others.

2. What does a dental examination include?
Question and answer period with the concerned dentists or our team members. Several things should be present in a complete dental examination, such as: Hard tissue and soft tissue condition, periodontal status, existing cavities and fillings, set of x-rays - i. e periapicals and OPG as and when required, smile appearance.

3. Why are my teeth sensitive?
Sensitive teeth often come from the fact that your gums have slightly receded. Recession of the gum allows the underlying dentin to show through which allows water and food easier access to the sensitive nerve. To manage this, there are a number of desensitizing toothpastes, gels and even some advanced dental procedures that can be performed

4. What should I do to prevent gum disease and tooth decay?
Care of teeth and gums start at home. Regular Brushing and flossing on a daily basis is the best way to take care of your teeth and gums on a continual basis. By keeping to a daily routing you will greatly minimize the risk of gingivitis or tooth decay as you age.

5. What is Gingivitis? and What is Periodontal Disease?
Gingivitis is a condition caused when bacteria surrounds the teeth and enters the gums. The gums can become irritated, inflamed and often bleed. In order to prevent the condition from worsening, regular hygiene visits are highly recommended. During your visit, our Hygiene team will teach you the proper flossing techniques and Oral Hygiene protocol for Home Care will prevent the Periodontal Disease.

Periodontal Disease is a silent disease that begins with little or no symptoms or asymptomatic. It is caused by bacteria that surrounds the teeth and enters the gums. The immediate condition is known as ‘gingivitis’. The gums become irritated, inflamed and often bleed- especially seen while brushing or some times even slight touch. If not properly treated, the condition worsens.

6. What is a Dental Implant?
Dental Implant is an artificial“man-made” replacement for a missing tooth (Prosthesis). Made from titanium, the screw-like object is inserted directly into the upper or lower jawbone after retracting the gum tissue. There is usually minimal discomfort involved with this procedure. After a period of 3-4 months, the Dental Implant and the bone fuse together (osteointegration). This creates an anchor for the new tooth to be placed onto the dental implant.

7. What is cosmetic dentistry?
The term cosmetic dentistry refers to all procedures used to improve your smile. This includes porcelain veneers, bridges and crowns, teeth whitening, bonding and white fillings(composite restorations).

8. Is there an alternative to the silver or metallic fillings?
Yes there is, the White (composite) fillings are quickly replacing the old silver fillings. Although both fillings serve the same purpose, however there are disadvantages associated with silver fillings due to its contents ,hence they are replaced by white (tooth colored) fillings secondly tooth colored fillings are more cosmetically appealing.
